Community Guidelines

Truth, Together.

Our Spirit

Veremet is a home for curious people who believe truth is built together. Our community — The Verifiers — investigates claims, shares sources, and reaches honest consensus through open collaboration. These guidelines exist to keep that home welcoming, rigorous, and trustworthy.

By participating in Veremet — submitting sources, joining discussions, voting, or contributing as a Maven — you agree to follow these guidelines.

What We Ask of You

Bring sources, not just opinions.

When you share what you've found, link to original sources where possible and explain why they support or challenge a claim. Investigation is a craft — show your work.

Engage in good faith.

Disagreement is welcome and necessary. Critique the source, the reasoning, or the evidence — never the person.

Stay curious.

Approach claims as genuine inquiries, not verdicts you're trying to defend. Be willing to update your perspective when better evidence appears.

Respect the work.

Cite sources accurately, don't misrepresent what you've read, and don't manipulate consensus through coordinated voting, duplicate accounts, or reputation gaming.

Protect privacy.

Don't share private information about other Verifiers, expose someone's identity without consent, or use Veremet to investigate or surveil private individuals who aren't part of a public claim.

What's Not Allowed

The following are not permitted anywhere on Veremet — in investigations, discussions, profiles, or messages:

Harassment, hate, or threats

Including content targeting people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.

Illegal content

Including content that infringes copyright, defames a real person, violates privacy law, or facilitates illegal activity.

Sexual or violent content involving minors

Zero tolerance. Accounts will be removed and reported to the appropriate authorities.

Coordinated manipulation

Including vote brigading, source spamming, sockpuppet accounts, paid astroturfing, or any attempt to distort consensus through inauthentic activity.

Impersonation

Pseudonyms are welcome; pretending to be another real person, organization, or credentialed expert you are not is not.

Spam and undisclosed self-promotion

Including repeated promotional posts, unrelated links, or low-quality submissions that don't contribute to investigation.

Doxxing

Including publishing personal contact information, home addresses, workplaces, or other private identifying details.

AI-generated content presented as original work

Using AI tools to assist research is fine; passing off AI-generated text or fabricated sources as your own investigation is not.

Misuse of Maven status

Mavens carry public reputation. Using Maven standing to coordinate consensus, intimidate other Verifiers, or accept undisclosed paid placements will result in removal of status.

How We Enforce

Veremet is moderated through a combination of automated systems, community reports, and our trust and safety team. When a guideline is violated, we may:

  • Remove the contribution
  • Issue a warning
  • Restrict posting, voting, or Maven privileges
  • Suspend or permanently remove the account
  • Report serious violations to law enforcement where required

Our response scales with the severity and pattern of the behavior. Severe violations — particularly those involving safety, illegal content, or coordinated manipulation — may result in immediate removal without prior warning.

Reporting and Appeals

If you see something that violates these guidelines, use the report function on any investigation, source, comment, or profile, or email our trust and safety team. If you believe an enforcement action against your account was made in error, you may appeal by replying to the moderation notice or emailing the appeals address.
